Speech Language Pathologist – UHC Staffing

Location: Northridge, California

Start Date: 06-16-2026

End Date: 09-15-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Varies, typically 8-hour shifts with start times varying; possible schedules include Wednesday-Sunday or Thursday-Monday

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $57 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
Conduct bedside swallow studies and support video swallow studies
Collaborate with rehab aides and therapy assistants to deliver comprehensive care
Float between assigned areas and support inpatient, outpatient, or rehab settings as needed
Document patient progress accurately using Cerner Powerchart
Educate patients and families on therapy techniques and recovery plans

Qualifications

Current CCC-SLP certification required
BLS certification required
At least one year of experience preferred; inpatient clinical experience may be considered
Travel experience and trauma experience are a plus
Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends when needed

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and treatment skills for stroke, TBI, neuro, and trauma patients
Experience with bedside and video swallow studies
Comfortable floating between inpatient, outpatient, and rehab settings
Proficient with Cerner Powerchart documentation
Collaborative approach working alongside PTs, OTs, and rehab aides
