Respiratory Therapist
Location: Portland, Oregon
Start Date: 08-13-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts, days and specific times vary (per diem scheduling)
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate respiratory care to pediatric patients
- Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status and respond to changes
- Administer oxygen therapy, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy
- Manage and monitor mechanical ventilators and airway equipment
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to develop treatment plans
- Educate patients and families on respiratory care techniques and home care
Qualifications
- Valid Oregon Respiratory Therapist license required
- BLS certification (CPR) required
- NBRC credential (RRT or CRT) required
- New graduates are welcome to apply; pediatric experience is a plus
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy equipment and techniques
- Understanding of pediatric respiratory conditions and treatments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Comfort with electronic health records and documentation
