Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis to maintain patient oral health
• Assess and document patient oral health conditions, including periodontal charting
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Administer local anesthesia and apply fluoride treatments as needed
• Take and develop dental X-rays to assist in diagnosis
• Collaborate with dentists to develop patient treatment plans

Qualifications

• Active Virginia Dental Hygienist license in good standing
• Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Experience in clinical dental hygiene preferred
• Excellent communication and patient care skills

Education

• Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited institution

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and equipment
• Proficiency in dental charting and patient records software
• Excellent interpersonal and patient education skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Attention to detail and commitment to infection control protocols
