Registered Nurse - Palliative Care
Location: Carmichael, California
Start Date: 06-23-2026
End Date: 09-22-2026
Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, up to every other weekend
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop daily patient lists and review charts to identify needs
- Assess patients and open meaningful goals-of-care discussions
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, advance directives, and POLSTs
- Lead family meetings and provide compassionate end-of-life support
- Collaborate during daily rounds with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
Qualifications
- Active California RN license
- BLS certification required
- ELNEC certification preferred
- 2-5 years recent palliative or hospice experience
- Acute care background strongly preferred
- ICU or oncology experience a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to manage a caseload of 5-6 new patients and 3-4 follow-ups daily
- Flexibility and excellent organizational skills
- Comfort discussing sensitive topics with patients and families
- Cerner EMR experience
