Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer IV chemotherapy safely and accurately to inpatient acute oncology patients
• Assess and monitor patients closely for adverse reactions and intervene promptly
• Document care clearly and efficiently using EPIC charting
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary team to create and execute care plans
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families about treatments and symptom management
• Maintain required certifications and follow all safety and regulatory protocols
• Assist with patient transitions across the unit and float to Med/Surg areas when needed

Qualifications

• Current California RN license (required)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification (required)
• ONC/Chemo certification (required)
• Experience with inpatient acute oncology and IV chemotherapy administration (required)
• Familiarity with EPIC charting (required)
• Ability to float to other Med/Surg units as needed and work collaboratively

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of chemotherapy administration safety and protocols
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record documentation
• Skilled in IV therapy, medication administration, and monitoring for infusion reactions
• Excellent patient education, communication, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to prioritize in an acute care environment and respond to changing patient needs
• Team-oriented approach to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
