Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to a diverse community in a rural hospital setting
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, catching changes early and responding quickly
• Administer medications, IVs, and treatments with skill and confidence
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators to ensure the best outcomes
• Float to all med/surg units and PCU when needed to care for tele holds prior to transfer
• Document care accurately in the Paragon charting system, with a transition to EPIC on the horizon
• Embrace a team-player mindset, working hard to support your colleagues and your community

Qualifications

• 18+ months of recent Med/Tele experience
• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications
• Ability to read telemetry strips (monitor techs are available, but RNs must be able to interpret)
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Rural hospital experience is a big plus
• A flexible, team-focused attitude ready to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Medical-surgical nursing and telemetry monitoring
• ECG interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition
• Patient assessment and critical thinking
• Time management and prioritization in high-acuity settings
• Comfort with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment
• Adaptability to rural hospital workflows and floating assignments
