Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to a diverse med-surg/telemetry patient population, including those with secondary psychiatric diagnoses.
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and assess patient conditions, intervening promptly to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, behavioral health techs, and security to maintain a safe healing environment.
• Perform essential procedures such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes while adhering to strict sterile field protocols.
• Document all care accurately in the Cerner EMR system.
• Float to ED psych holds and med-surg floors as needed, demonstrating clinical flexibility and teamwork.
• Participate in pass/fail SIMs lab sessions to validate skills and support continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Arizona or a compact state
• Minimum 18 months of MedSurg/Tele experience (2 years preferred)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Level 1 trauma experience required (Level 2 considered)
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam as part of onboarding
• Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
• First-time travelers welcome!
• Must have own vehicle for travel assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring skills
• Proficiency in sterile field technique and central line care
• Foley catheter insertion and wound care
• Cerner EMR documentation
• Understanding of psychiatric conditions and behavioral health interventions
• Ability to de-escalate situations and manage agitated patients
• Knowledge of video monitoring and safety surveillance protocols
• Excellent critical thinking and assessment skills
