Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist chairside during exams and procedures
• Prepare and sterilize instruments following strict infection control protocols
• Take and process diagnostic x-rays for orthodontic assessment
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation
• Support a smooth patient flow in a busy orthodontic practice

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant in Maryland (or willing to obtain)
• Prior experience as an orthodontic assistant is preferred
• Current x-ray certification in Maryland
• Knowledge of Denticon software is a plus
• Ability to work evening shifts
• Compassionate and professional chairside manner

Knowledge & Skills

• Understanding of orthodontic procedures and terminology
• Proficient in dental charting and patient management systems
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent verbal communication with patients and team members
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to maintaining a sterile and safe workspace
