Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, family-centered care to pediatric patients on the medical-surgical unit
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans
• Administer medications and treatments with precision and care
• Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, medications, and recovery
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
• Advocate for the unique needs of children and their families

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Missouri (or compact state license)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of pediatric or med/surg nursing experience preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of pediatric nursing principles and practices
• Proficiency in administering pediatric medications and calculating dosages
• Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Skill in using electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Ability to communicate with empathy and clarity to children and families
• Time management and prioritization skills
