Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts (exact start/end times and weekly days to be confirmed with scheduler); may include day and night rotations

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent care
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Document patient care clearly and timely in the medical record
Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating when appropriate

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
Clinical experience or strong interest in Med/Surg nursing
Comfort working 12-hour shifts and in a fast-paced hospital environment
Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid assessment and documentation skills
Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
Basic wound care and patient monitoring
Prioritization and time management on a busy unit
Collaborative approach to working with physicians and allied health staff
