Location: New Orleans, LA

Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: 12-hour shifts (exact start/end times and weekly days to be confirmed with scheduler); may include day and night rotations
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the Med/Surg unit
- Perform thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate excellent care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
- Document patient care clearly and timely in the medical record
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating when appropriate
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Clinical experience or strong interest in Med/Surg nursing
- Comfort working 12-hour shifts and in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid assessment and documentation skills
- Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
- Basic wound care and patient monitoring
- Prioritization and time management on a busy unit
- Collaborative approach to working with physicians and allied health staff
