Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to Med/Surg patients with a variety of conditions
• Assess, plan, and implement nursing care plans tailored to each patient's needs
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely
• Monitor vital signs and report changes in patient status promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the healthcare team to ensure optimal outcomes
• Document patient care thoroughly and maintain accurate medical records
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or a compact state
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Previous Med/Surg nursing experience is strongly preferred
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient needs and unit priorities

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of medical-surgical nursing principles and best practices
• Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, and patient monitoring
• Excellent assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Strong documentation and EHR skills
• Compassionate bedside manner and effective patient education abilities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
