Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period
• Monitor maternal vital signs and fetal heart rates, intervening promptly when needed
• Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries while ensuring a safe, supportive environment
• Educate new parents on newborn care, feeding, and recovery
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the healthcare team to deliver the best outcomes
• Document care accurately and advocate for your patients every step of the way

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or a compact state
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required or obtained within a specified timeframe
• Previous Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to respond calmly and effectively in high-pressure situations
