Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 06-22-2026

End Date: 09-28-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM start with variable shift lengths, plus call coverage including every other weekend and two weekdays on average

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $98 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist physicians as directed during a wide variety of surgical procedures
Provide first assistant support across ortho, robotics, neuro, GYN, urology, vascular, and general surgery cases
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth case flow and excellent patient outcomes
Float between campuses as needed to support the broader surgical services team
Maintain readiness for call coverage including nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

Active RN license with RNFA certification required
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Strong experience in ortho, robotics, neuro, and GYN specialties
Robotics experience is a deal-breaker requirement
Comfortable scrubbing and floating between campuses

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency with Cerner EMR
Experience with DaVinci robotic systems
Knowledge of total joints, knee and shoulder scopes, and TSA procedures
Familiarity with GYN oncology, neuro spine, brain tumors, and vascular cases
Ability to handle call and respond within 30 minutes
