Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert emergency care to patients in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center
• Manage high-acuity cases including trauma, sepsis, chest pain, strokes, and respiratory distress
• Administer and monitor a wide range of critical care drips common in trauma ERs
• Collaborate with ER physicians, mid-levels, and support staff to deliver seamless patient care
• Float to the OBS unit and Freestanding Creighton ER at least once per week to support the broader team
• Interpret cardiac monitoring strips and respond swiftly to patient changes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• NRP certification preferred
• Recent Level I or Level II trauma experience strongly preferred
• Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
• Must live outside a 50-mile radius of any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility and cannot be currently employed there in any capacity

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills in high-acuity emergency settings
• Ability to manage multiple patients while maintaining safety and quality standards
• Comfortable reading and interpreting cardiac strips independently
• Excellent communication and teamwork in a collaborative ER environment
• Adaptable to floating between units and handling varied patient ratios
