Registered Nurse - Emergency Room
Location: College Station, TX
Start Date: 08-17-2026
End Date: 11-16-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM, 12-hour shifts, every other weekend
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population, including cardiac, stroke, and trauma cases
- Triage patients efficiently in a Level III STEMI and Stroke Receiving facility
- Administer medications, including common ER drips such as pressors and sedation
- Interpret telemetry and EKGs, as there are no monitor techs
- Troubleshoot ventilator settings and manage respiratory support equipment
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, midlevels, and PCTs
- Provide care for patients with a wide range of conditions, from abdominal pain to pediatric emergencies
Qualifications
- Active RN license (or compact license eligible)
- 2+ years of emergency room experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
- NIHSS certification
- Advanced Dysrhythmia test pass (83%) before starting
- Comfortable with MEDITECH charting system
- Experience with common ER drips, telemetry interpretation, and ventilator troubleshooting
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical judgment in high-pressure situations
- Proficiency in EKG interpretation and cardiac monitoring
- Knowledge of common emergency medications and drips
- Ability to troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Adaptability to varying patient acuities
