Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist periodontists during surgical and non-surgical procedures
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms
• Take and develop dental X-rays and impressions
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care
• Maintain accurate patient records and assist with charting

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification or license in Maryland
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a dental office, preferably in periodontics
• Strong knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and sterilization techniques
• Excellent communication skills and a caring, patient-focused attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in dental software and record keeping
• Knowledge of periodontic procedures and instruments
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and infection control practices
