Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform rapid triage and assessment of emergency patients to prioritize care
• Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing interventions and administer medications per protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Provide clear, compassionate communication and education to patients and families
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
• Respond effectively to emergency situations and assist in life-saving procedures
• Support unit efficiency by participating in throughput, patient flow, and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
• Experience or demonstrated competency in emergency nursing (ED/ER)
• Comfort and ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and rotate between day and night as needed
• Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• BLS certification recommended; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS) a plus

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing principles and triage processes
• Rapid patient assessment and prioritization
• IV therapy, medication administration, and acute care interventions
• Effective documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and in fast-paced environments
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting patients/families
