Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid assessments and initiate appropriate interventions in time-sensitive situations
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to orders and protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Monitor and document patient status, responses to treatment, and changes in condition
• Prioritize workload and triage effectively in a fast-paced ED environment
• Participate in departmental quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license (eligible to practice in Louisiana preferred)
• Experience in Emergency Department/ER nursing or strong emergency care background
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Comfortable with high-acuity, fast-paced clinical scenarios and rapid decision-making
• Ability to work per diem shifts, including nights and weekends as needed
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
• Proficient in IV therapy, medication administration, and emergency procedures
• Familiarity with EHR documentation and speedy charting practices
• Ability to manage multiple critical patients while maintaining safety and standards
• Calm under pressure with strong clinical judgment and prioritization
