Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention and acute clinical support to patients and families
• Deliver psychotherapy and family therapy to address behavioral health needs
• Manage comprehensive case plans and coordinate care across disciplines
• Lead or assist with referral and admission processing for new patients
• Offer technical guidance to physicians, hospital staff, and external agencies on case handling within State and Federal guidelines
• Travel between facilities within the Kauai region as needed to support patients

Qualifications

• Current, valid Hawaii social work license required (LBSW, LMSW, or LCSW) — must hold Hawaii licensure
• One (1) year professional social work experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Experience with crisis intervention, psychotherapy, family therapy, and case management
• Valid driver’s license preferred for regional travel
• Strong record of working with interdisciplinary teams and outside agencies

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) or Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program
• Master’s degree (MSW) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in crisis intervention and short-term psychotherapy techniques
• Proficient in comprehensive case management and discharge planning
• Knowledgeable about State and Federal guidelines relevant to hospital social work
• Ability to conduct family therapy and coordinate multi-agency care
• Excellent communication, documentation, and clinical decision-making skills
• Comfortable providing technical guidance to clinical staff and external partners
