Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs, and promptly report changes in residents’ conditions to nursing staff
• Support residents with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Engage residents in meaningful activities and offer emotional support to enhance their quality of life
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents and staff
• Document care provided accurately and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team

Qualifications

• Active GNA (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) certification in Maryland
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
• Must meet COVID-19 vaccination requirements or have an approved medical/religious exemption
• Ability to provide a state or federal issued ID and wear a photo badge at all times
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to caring for older adults

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident care techniques and safety protocols
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with residents, families, and team members
• Ability to follow individualized care plans and document observations accurately
• Physical stamina to lift, transfer, and support residents safely
• Understanding of HIPAA and resident confidentiality
