Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate bedside care to acute care patients, ensuring dignity and comfort
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing and mobility
- Monitor and record vital signs and report meaningful changes to the nursing team
- Support safe patient transfers and positioning while following facility protocols
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate clearly during shift handoffs
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (or ability to obtain) required
- Prior experience or comfort working in acute care settings preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification preferred or obtained upon hire
- Ability to follow infection control and safety procedures consistently
- Excellent communication skills and a team-first attitude
- Compliance with facility immunization and background check requirements
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completed CNA training program and state certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Fundamentals of patient care and safe handling techniques
- Measuring and recording vital signs accurately
- Infection prevention and standard precautions
- Effective communication with patients, families and clinical staff
- Basic charting and documentation practices
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced acute care environment
