Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered occupational therapy interventions under the direction of the OT
• Assist with evaluations and implement individualized treatment plans to help patients regain independence
• Deliver hands-on therapeutic activities and train patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques
• Document clinical progress accurately and timely in the medical record
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists and interdisciplinary staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to discharge planning and follow-up recommendations

Qualifications

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credential required
• Current ability to practice in California for the duration of the contract
• Comfort working in an inpatient rehab/contract facility setting
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with common rehab therapeutic approaches
• Willingness to work the scheduled days of the assignment, including weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic activity design and adaptive equipment
• Skilled in patient mobility, transfers and ADL retraining
• Ability to educate patients and caregivers effectively and empathetically
• Familiarity with rehab documentation standards and outcomes measurement
• Good communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced clinical settings
