Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care that helps residents feel safe, respected, and comfortable
• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and report any changes to the nursing team
• Answer call lights promptly and respond to resident needs with a calm, reassuring presence
• Help residents with meals, hydration, and positioning to support their overall wellbeing
• Document care accurately in the facility system and communicate clearly during handoff
• Collaborate with nurses and fellow CNAs to keep the unit running smoothly through the night

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license or certification in good standing (Maine)
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Completed COVID-19 vaccination series or a documented religious or medical exemption from your employer
• State or federally issued photo identification to present at the facility and wear a photo badge at all times
• Prior CNA experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, or rehab setting is a plus
• Reliable, kind, and ready to jump in with a team-first attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable taking vital signs and recognizing when something needs a nurse's attention
• Strong patient handling and safe mobility techniques
• Clear, warm communication with residents, families, and the care team
• Accurate and timely charting in electronic health records
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for caring for older adults
• Ability to stay steady and organized during a busy overnight shift
