Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care that helps residents feel safe and respected
• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and changes in condition
• Support mobility and safe transfers to keep residents steady and comfortable
• Communicate observations clearly with nurses and the wider care team
• Keep resident spaces clean, organized, and calm
• Document care accurately and on time in the facility system
• Bring a positive attitude and a genuine smile to every shift

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Maine
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Previous CNA or long-term care experience is a plus, but new CNAs with solid training are welcome
• Completed original or updated COVID-19 vaccination, or a documented religious or medical exemption from your employer
• Ability to bring a state or federal issued ID to the facility and wear a photo badge at all times
• Reliable, punctual, and ready to pitch in with the team

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable taking vital signs and spotting changes worth reporting
• Knowledge of safe patient handling and transfer techniques
• Understanding of infection control and standard precautions
• Strong observation and communication skills
• Basic documentation and electronic charting familiarity
• Patience, empathy, and a calm presence under pressure
• Team-first mindset with a willingness to help wherever needed
