Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care that helps residents feel safe, seen, and respected
• Assist residents with daily living activities like bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and report any changes to the nursing team
• Help residents move safely with transfers, repositioning, walking, and range of motion activities
• Keep rooms, linens, and equipment clean and organized so residents always have a comfortable space
• Chart care accurately in the facility system and communicate clearly during shift handoff
• Be a friendly face and a listening ear for residents and their families throughout the day

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Maine
• Current BLS certification is a plus
• Prior experience in long term care, skilled nursing, or a similar setting is welcomed but new CNAs are encouraged to apply
• Completed original or updated COVID-19 vaccination, or a documented religious or medical exemption from your employer
• Ability to bring a state or federal issued ID and wear a photo badge at all times while on site
• Reliable, punctual, and ready to jump in with a positive attitude
• Strong communication skills and a genuine heart for caring for others

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort with taking vital signs and documenting patient observations
• Safe patient handling, transfer, and mobility techniques
• Understanding of infection control and standard precautions
• Familiarity with electronic charting or willingness to learn quickly
• Ability to prioritize tasks during a busy shift
• Team player mindset with solid verbal and written communication
• Patience, empathy, and a calm presence under pressure
