Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care that helps residents feel safe, respected and at home
• Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming and meals
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and report changes to the nursing team
• Support resident mobility, transfers and positioning to keep everyone steady and comfortable
• Help maintain a clean, calm and organized environment that supports healing and dignity
• Collaborate closely with nurses and fellow CNAs to deliver seamless, team-based care
• Document care accurately and promptly so nothing falls through the cracks
• Bring warmth and encouragement to every interaction, because the little moments matter most

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Maine
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Completion of the original or updated COVID-19 vaccine series, or a documented religious or medical exemption from your employer
• Ability to bring a state or federal issued identification to the facility and wear a photo badge at all times
• Prior skilled nursing or long-term care experience is a plus, but new CNAs with a great attitude are welcome
• Reliable, dependable and ready to jump in with a positive spirit
• Strong communication skills and a genuine heart for caring for others

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable taking vital signs and recognizing when something needs a nurse's attention
• Knowledge of safe patient handling, transfers and fall prevention techniques
• Understanding of infection control practices and proper hand hygiene
• Familiarity with electronic documentation or a willingness to learn quickly
• Solid observation skills and the confidence to speak up when you notice a change
• Warm bedside manner and the ability to connect with residents and families
• Team player mindset with a knack for staying calm under pressure
