Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care that helps residents feel safe and respected
• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output, and report changes to the nursing team
• Answer call lights promptly and respond to resident needs with a warm, patient approach
• Help residents move safely using proper transfer and lifting techniques
• Serve meals and support residents during dining to encourage good nutrition and hydration
• Keep patient areas clean, organized and comfortable throughout your shift
• Document care accurately and communicate clearly with nurses and fellow caregivers

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Maine
• Current BLS certification, or willingness to obtain one
• Prior CNA experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is a plus
• Completed original or updated COVID-19 vaccination, or a documented religious or medical exemption from your employer
• Ability to bring a state or federal issued ID to the facility and wear a photo badge at all times
• A caring attitude, dependable work ethic and a genuine love for helping others
• Strong communication skills and comfort working as part of a care team

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfort with patient transfers, mobility support and safe lifting practices
• Solid understanding of vital signs, intake and output tracking
• Familiarity with electronic charting and basic care documentation
• Sharp observation skills to spot changes in resident condition
• Patience, empathy and a calm presence under pressure
• Teamwork mindset and clear, respectful communication
• Dependability and punctuality for scheduled shifts
