Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist residents with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs, intake/output, and changes in patient condition accurately
• Assist with safe patient transfers, mobility, and fall prevention strategies
• Communicate observations and changes to the nursing team to support timely interventions
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control and safety protocols
• Document care activities clearly and promptly in the resident record
• Support resident dignity and independence while building trusting relationships with residents and families

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
• Active/valid state certification or ability to obtain New Mexico CNA credentials
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to work night shifts (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM) and the assigned Tue-Wed-Thu schedule
• Background check and immunizations/current health screenings as required by facility
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude

Education

• High school diploma or GED; successful completion of an approved CNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of resident care fundamentals and ADL support
• Comfortable taking and documenting vital signs and basic assessments
• Safe transfer and mobility assistance techniques
• Infection control practices and adherence to facility policies
• Clear, compassionate communication with residents, families, and the care team
• Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
