Roles & Responsibilities

• Ensure surgical instruments are thoroughly decontaminated and sterilized following strict protocols
• Assemble and prepare surgical trays and instrument sets for operating room use
• Operate and maintain Steris sterilizers, Vpro, and Medivator equipment with precision
• Perform high-level disinfection (HLD) processes for heat-sensitive instruments
• Manage and document all sterilization cycles and loads accurately
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure availability of sterile supplies for trauma cases

Qualifications

• Current CRCST or CBSPD certification required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience in an acute care setting
• Experience with decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and HLD procedures
• Familiarity with Steris, Vpro, Medivator, and EPIC charting systems strongly preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of infection control and sterilization standards
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced trauma level 1 environment
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills for coordinating with other departments
