Sterile Processing Technician
Location: Lakewood, CO

Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (Evenings)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $34 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensure surgical instruments are thoroughly decontaminated and sterilized following strict protocols
- Assemble and prepare surgical trays and instrument sets for operating room use
- Operate and maintain Steris sterilizers, Vpro, and Medivator equipment with precision
- Perform high-level disinfection (HLD) processes for heat-sensitive instruments
- Manage and document all sterilization cycles and loads accurately
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure availability of sterile supplies for trauma cases
Qualifications
- Current CRCST or CBSPD certification required
- BLS certification (AHA) required
- Minimum 2 years of sterile processing experience in an acute care setting
- Experience with decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and HLD procedures
- Familiarity with Steris, Vpro, Medivator, and EPIC charting systems strongly preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of infection control and sterilization standards
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced trauma level 1 environment
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with other departments
