Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and treat patients with respiratory conditions
• Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and ventilator support
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to develop patient care plans
• Provide respiratory education and support to patients and families
• Respond quickly and effectively to respiratory emergencies
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and equipment readiness

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana Respiratory Therapist license (or eligible to obtain)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential
• Previous acute care or hospital respiratory therapy experience is a plus
• Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing patient needs

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of respiratory care procedures and equipment
• Skilled in patient assessment and critical care protocols
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
• Ability to stay calm and act quickly in emergency situations
