Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist dental hygienists during patient exams and cleanings
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments
• Take and develop dental x-rays as directed
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
• Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment charts
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Active Maryland dental assisting certification or hygiene assistant permit (or willing to obtain)
• Prior experience in a dental office or clinical setting
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong infection control knowledge
• Excellent communication and patient care skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
• Proficiency with dental software and patient management systems
• Skill in sterilizing equipment and preparing the operatory
• Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach
