Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional chairside assistance to orthodontists during procedures and adjustments
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment, ensuring a safe and clean environment
• Take and develop dental X-rays and intraoral photos to support accurate diagnosis
• Create and maintain detailed patient records, updating treatment plans as directed
• Educate patients and families on orthodontic care, oral hygiene, and brace maintenance
• Help keep treatment rooms fully stocked and ready for each patient visit

Qualifications

• Certified or trained Dental Assistant with a valid certification in Maryland
• Current X-ray certification and CPR/BLS certification
• Experience in orthodontic or dental office settings is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly, patient-centered approach
• Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
• Proficiency with dental practice management software and digital x-ray systems
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols
• Skilled in patient communication and chairside manner
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
