Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients in the Progressive Care Unit, identifying changes in condition and responding promptly
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to develop and adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and post-discharge instructions
• Document patient vitals, telemetry readings, and interventions accurately in the EHR
• Respond to emergencies and provide critical care support as needed

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• Current BLS certification (AHA preferred)
• ACLS certification is a plus
• Previous PCU, step-down, or telemetry nursing experience preferred
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work flexible per diem shifts

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Knowledge of PCU nursing protocols and patient care standards
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Comfort with electronic health records (EHR) documentation
• Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced environment
