Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional nursing care to critically ill patients in the Medical Surgical ICU, blending compassion with clinical expertise.
• Closely monitor vital signs, lab results, and patient status, responding quickly to any changes or emergencies.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and advanced life support interventions with precision and confidence.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, specialists, and nurses to create and adjust individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families, offering support and clear communication during some of the most challenging moments.
• Maintain meticulous documentation and uphold the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.
• Bring specialized skills to post-operative open-heart recovery, or jump right in with your strong critical care background; we will tailor the assignment to you.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required; license verification will be completed upon hire.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
• Strong critical care background required; open heart experience preferred but not required.
• Must pass the Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen and meet all personal health history requirements, including COVID-19 and Influenza vaccines, TB screening, and physical examination.
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep understanding of critical care nursing, including hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management.
• Proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms and 12-lead EKGs.
• Skilled in managing complex medication regimens and titrating vasoactive drips.
• Knowledge of post-operative cardiac surgery care and recovery protocols (if open heart experience).
• Strong patient and family education skills.
• Ability to document accurately and use electronic health records.
