Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips for PCU patients with cardiac and medical-surgical conditions
• Titrate critical drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, and Amiodarone
• Provide high-flow oxygen therapy and manage respiratory support
• Collaborate with charge nurse and interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Deliver compassionate care to diverse populations, including Hispanic and Somalian communities
• Float to MedSurg or ICU as needed to care for PCU-acuity patients

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in Nebraska or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proven competency in arterial line management
• Minimum 1 year of PCU experience preferred
• Comfortable titrating multiple cardiac drips
• Flexible, adaptable team player with strong communication skills
• No artificial nails – patient care policy must be followed

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in telemetry interpretation and rhythm recognition
• Proficiency with high-flow oxygen therapy and titration of vasoactive drips
• Strong focus on patient experience and responsiveness
• Cultural sensitivity and ability to care for diverse patient populations
• Willingness to learn and accept feedback for continuous improvement
