Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, compassionate nursing care to critically ill neonates in our Level III NICU
• Monitor and assess patient status, respond to changes, and implement life-saving interventions
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and operate specialized equipment like ventilators and incubators
• Partner with a collaborative team of physicians, nurse practitioners, and respiratory therapists to create individualized care plans
• Educate and support families, keeping them informed and involved in their baby's care journey
• Accurately document all assessments and interventions in EPIC electronic health records

Qualifications

• 2+ years of NICU nursing experience required
• Current, active RN license in Texas or compact state
• AHA BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Experience with EPIC charting system is highly preferred
• BSN not required - we welcome ADN and diploma nurses!

Knowledge & Skills

• Neonatal resuscitation (NRP) proficiency
• Experience managing ventilators and oxygen therapy for neonates
• Knowledge of neonatal pharmacology and medication dosage calculations
• Skill in family-centered care and parent education
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Comfortable with EPIC electronic health records
