Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide thorough dental cleanings and prophylaxis to patients
- Assess oral health conditions and document patient findings
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventative care
- Take and process dental radiographs as needed
- Assist the dentist during procedures to ensure efficient patient care
- Maintain sterilized instruments and a clean, compliant operatory
Qualifications
- Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Previous clinical dental hygiene experience preferred
- Strong communication and patient-focused attitude
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and instrumentation
- Proficiency in taking dental x-rays
- Understanding of infection control and sterilization protocols
- Excellent patient education and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the dental team
