Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care to patients including cleanings, scaling, and polishing
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care
• Assist the dentist during procedures by taking X-rays and preparing instruments
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Adhere to strict infection control protocols and sterilization guidelines
• Collaborate with the dental team to create a positive patient experience

Qualifications

• Valid Virginia Dental Hygiene license
• Current CPR certification
• Experience in dental hygiene practice preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization techniques
• Proficiency with dental software and patient management systems
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Ability to educate and motivate patients
• Understanding of dental radiology safety
