Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during patient consultations, adjustments, and procedures
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, ensuring a clean and safe environment
• Take and mount dental X-rays and create accurate records
• Make impressions and digital scans for orthodontic appliances
• Educate patients and families on oral hygiene and braces care
• Maintain patient charting and documentation in the Denticon system

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant certification in Maryland
• X-ray certification and experience taking dental radiographs
• Previous orthodontic assisting experience is strongly preferred
• CPR/BLS certification
• Warm, professional communication skills with patients of all ages

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, procedures, and workflows
• Comfort using dental practice management software, especially Denticon
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization standards
• Patient-centered approach with empathy and positivity
