Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced Clinical Decision/Direct Admit Unit
• Complete admission assessments, medication reconciliation, and initiate acute care orders to reduce length of stay
• Collaborate with a dynamic team to enhance ED decompression and patient throughput
• Float to other units within your skill set as needed, ensuring patient safety and continuity of care
• Mentor and support less experienced staff, and step into Charge Nurse role when needed

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent MedSurg, Telemetry, and Step-Down (PCU) experience
• Active RN license in North Carolina or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills for a fast-paced, quick-turnover environment
• Charge Nurse experience or willingness to learn is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in Cerner documentation system
• Experience with Baxter IV pumps
• Strong critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Ability to adapt to varying patient acuities and diagnoses
• Excellent communication and patient experience focus
