Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse range of patients in the emergency department
• Triage patients quickly and efficiently based on acuity level, ensuring timely treatment
• Collaborate with physicians, midlevels, and the care team to develop and implement effective care plans
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments while closely monitoring patient responses
• Document accurately in Cerner (First Net) and maintain thorough, up-to-date patient records
• Respond to medical emergencies with confidence and a calm, focused approach

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California or a compact state license
• Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Room nursing experience (3-5 years strongly preferred)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Experience with Level III trauma patients or above preferred
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR (First Net) required
• Strong ability to handle high patient volumes and diverse cases, including pediatric and psychiatric patients

Education

• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of emergency nursing standards and evidence-based practices
• Skilled in trauma, stroke, cardiac, orthopedic, and acute care management
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with approximately 100 patient visits per day
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, including readiness to take charge nurse duties when needed
• Ability to care for patients across the lifespan, including 500-600 pediatric visits per month
