Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during a variety of orthodontic procedures
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms
- Take and process dental X-rays as needed
- Provide chairside assistance and ensure patient comfort
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care
- Manage patient records and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent training
- Valid X-ray certification (if required by state)
- Prior experience in orthodontics or dental assisting preferred
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental and orthodontic terminology
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g., Denticon)
- Understanding of sterilization and infection control protocols
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused attitude
