Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support daily rehabilitation activities in a compassionate, respectful manner
• Administer medications, wound care, and treatments according to individualized care plans and physician orders
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting progress and promptly communicating changes to the care team
• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and physicians to implement and adjust rehab goals
• Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, recovery milestones, and self-care techniques
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that promotes patient dignity and independence

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered LPN or RN license in Maryland (or compact state, if applicable)
• BLS certification from AHA or equivalent is required
• COVID-19 vaccination or documented medical or religious exemption, per facility policy
• Previous experience in rehabilitation, long-term care, or acute care is a plus; new grads with a strong clinical foundation are encouraged to apply
• Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills to thrive in a fast-paced rehab environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of rehabilitation nursing principles and best practices
• Proficient in medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and patient monitoring
• Excellent communication skills for patient teaching and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic healthcare setting
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach with a focus on positive outcomes
• Adaptability to work with different units and patient populations as a per diem nurse
