Location: Lanham, Maryland
Start Date: 08-17-2026
Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Day shift, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Candidate Pay Rate: $29 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and support daily rehabilitation activities in a compassionate, respectful manner
- Administer medications, wound care, and treatments according to individualized care plans and physician orders
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting progress and promptly communicating changes to the care team
- Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and physicians to implement and adjust rehab goals
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, recovery milestones, and self-care techniques
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment that promotes patient dignity and independence
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered LPN or RN license in Maryland (or compact state, if applicable)
- BLS certification from AHA or equivalent is required
- COVID-19 vaccination or documented medical or religious exemption, per facility policy
- Previous experience in rehabilitation, long-term care, or acute care is a plus; new grads with a strong clinical foundation are encouraged to apply
- Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills to thrive in a fast-paced rehab environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of rehabilitation nursing principles and best practices
- Proficient in medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and patient monitoring
- Excellent communication skills for patient teaching and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a dynamic healthcare setting
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach with a focus on positive outcomes
- Adaptability to work with different units and patient populations as a per diem nurse
