Shift Type: Self-scheduling, 12-hour shifts (e.g., 9:00 AM - 9:30 PM), includes rotating weekends (Sat/Sun for days)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population, including correctional and homeless individuals
Collaborate with a dedicated team of ED techs, midlevels, and physicians in a fast-paced 18-bed unit
Manage patient ratios of 1:4 (1:2 for ICU patients) and ensure timely assessments and interventions
Utilize Cerner EMR and Phillips telemetry to document and monitor patient status
Float between two facilities just 6.5 miles apart as needed, with advance notice
Contribute to a teamwork-oriented environment, treating an average of 100 patients per day

Qualifications

Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
Minimum of 1-2 years of recent Emergency Room experience preferred
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
Must be able to work a primary job with no conflicting schedules

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records system
Knowledge of Phillips telemetry monitoring
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to handle high-acuity patients and fast-paced environments
