Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures
• Circulate and/or scrub in the CVOR to ensure a sterile environment and smooth workflow
• Assist the surgical team by anticipating needs, handing instruments, and monitoring patient vitals
• Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning, prepping, and draping
• Document intraoperative care accurately and communicate effectively with the team
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other staff to deliver exceptional patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida or compact state
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR or operating room experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• CNOR certification preferred but not required
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and CVOR procedures
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to stand for long periods and respond quickly to emergencies
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities under pressure
