Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist our orthodontist with procedures, from patient preparation to post-treatment care
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatory rooms to ensure a safe, clean environment
- Take and process dental X-rays as directed, ensuring patient comfort
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records using Denticon and other systems
- Support the front desk team with scheduling and patient flow as needed
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification or completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- Maryland Dental Radiographer certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Experience in orthodontic practices is a plus
- CPR/BLS certification required
- Strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and OSHA standards
- Familiarity with dental practice management software (Denticon preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a busy clinical environment
- Team player with a positive attitude
