Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional patient care by performing thorough dental cleanings and assessments
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques to promote long-term health
• Take and develop dental x-rays to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning
• Apply fluoride treatments and dental sealants to protect patients' teeth
• Assist the dentist during procedures and maintain a sterile, organized operatory
• Document patient care accurately and maintain confidential records

Qualifications

• Current Virginia Dental Hygienist license in good standing
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program
• CPR/BLS certification required
• Previous experience in a dental practice is preferred
• A passion for patient education and preventive care

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and instruments
• Proficiency in capturing and processing dental radiographs
• Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and education
• Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities
• Attention to detail with a commitment to infection control standards
• Familiarity with dental software for charting and scheduling
