Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist in delivering top-notch patient care during exams and procedures
- Prepare operatories and sterilize instruments to keep every visit safe and comfortable
- Take and process dental X-rays and orthodontic impressions
- Educate patients and parents about braces, aligners, and proper oral hygiene
- Maintain accurate patient records and chart treatments in Denticon
- Support a smooth patient flow and a welcoming office environment
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or equivalent training
- Active state dental assistant certification or registration where required
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- X-ray safety certification
- Experience working in an orthodontic or dental setting
- A positive, caring attitude and a passion for patient care
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of orthodontic instruments, brackets, wires, and appliances
- Familiarity with dental practice management software, including Denticon
- Strong communication skills to explain procedures and ease patient nerves
- Attention to detail and commitment to infection control standards
