Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart tones, contractions, and maternal vital signs
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and emergency procedures
• Educate families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, positive outcomes

Qualifications

• Current Louisiana RN license in good standing
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification preferred
• Previous labor and delivery experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of maternal and fetal monitoring
• Understanding of labor and delivery procedures and interventions
• Skilled in patient education and emotional support
• Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
