Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality MRI procedures independently, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout each exam.
  • Operate MRI equipment following established protocols and safety guidelines, including thorough patient screening for contraindications.
  • Apply comprehensive MRI safety standards to protect patients, staff, and yourself from potential hazards.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to optimize image quality and diagnostic accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Participate in quality assurance and continuing education initiatives to uphold department excellence.

Qualifications

  • Formal education from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology is required.
  • Previous MRI experience in a hospital setting is required.
  • Active ARRT Registry and MRI Registry certifications are required.
  • Current CPR certification is required.
  • Venipuncture certification is required (or must be obtained within 3 months of hire).
  • Ability to provide at least two recent supervisory references.

Education

  • Formal AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology

Knowledge & Skills

  • Comprehensive understanding of MRI safety protocols
  • Independent judgment and initiative in performing MRI procedures
  • Proficiency in MRI technology and radiologic techniques
  • Strong patient care and communication skills
  • Familiarity with venipuncture procedures
  • Ability to work under limited supervision
